Development Director

Accelerator for America seeks a driven and qualified individual to fill the role of Development Director in Los Angeles.

Accelerator for America is a 501(C)(3) organization based in Los Angeles, CA that seeks to scale and replicate local solutions to economic insecurity across the country. We support initiatives that connect people with existing jobs, create new opportunities and foster infrastructure development. We work closely with local and national leaders on these issues, including Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Qualifications for the Development Director position include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2+ years of relevant fundraising experience
  • A strong sense of personal organization
  • Experience asking for financial support and maintaining relationships
  • Willingness to dive in with a no-task-is-too-small attitude
  • An ability to write quickly and with precision, as well as strong proofreading skills
  • Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day fundraising operations including calls, grant-writing, and follow up with foundations, corporations, individuals, and other potential funders
  • Organize call time, schedule follow-up meetings and manage fundraising correspondence
  • Manage finance events and follow-up with guests
  • Ensure strong donor relationships both locally and across the country
  • Ensure organizational follow through and manage accountability with grant terms and other requirements of fundraising
