AFA Action Continuing the Mission of United for Infrastructure
Today we are proud to announce that United for Infrastructure will be continuing its legacy as the leading infrastructure advocacy organization as a program of the national “Do Tank” Accelerator for America Action. United For Infrastructure (UFI) founded Infrastructure Week and was the driving force behind the passage of the $1.2 trillion federal infrastructure bill.
Accelerator for America Action (AFAA) was founded in 2017 to advocate for infrastructure funding at the local, state and national level. AFAA serves as intermediary, convener, and advocate – bringing together the best minds from the public, private and philanthropic sectors to pursue infrastructure funding and policies that provide access to economic opportunity and build national change from the ground up. In 2020 AFA Action formed the New Partnership on Infrastructure to champion policies that rebuild America by putting infrastructure development at the forefront of the nation’s recovery effort. In 2021 AFAA organized the #InfrastructureIsCalling campaign, coalescing the voices of over 40 local leaders from 27 states around a federal infrastructure package. After IIJA/BIL’s passage, AFAA and partners developed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Federal Investment Guide to aid local leaders in identifying and prioritizing IIJA/BIL programs for their communities.
This evolution of United for Infrastructure builds on the incredible foundation we have built together over the last decade. There is much work to be done – implementing the IIJA/BIL and building the case for long term, regular commitment to spending so desperately needed to modernize America’s infrastructure. AFAA has been an important partner in the work of UFI, and AFAA is the right organization to carry it into the future.
Thank you for your enduring support, and AFAA is excited to hear from you about your ideas for the important work ahead.
Let’s build a stronger America together.
