Transit & Infrastructure work is about more than just how we move; it's about how we live. We address affordable housing, commute times, climate change and the quality of life if we successfully address transit. Transit & Infrastructure measures also fund the creation of good-paying and, typically, union jobs that provide recession-proof careers and strong local economies. We have a proven track record of working across the country to bring this issue to the forefront to create change locally.
At the first meeting of the Accelerator Advisory Council in South Bend, Indiana, our members voted unanimously to recommend that we dedicate staff, time and financial resources to assist specific cities and regions with their work on transit measures.
Recently, we commissioned a national poll to learn how everyday Americans understand infrastructure, and we found that Americans place infrastructure as one of the top three national priorities.
What We Provide
Accelerator for America Action is a 501c4 entity that engages in advocacy that enhances the Accelerator's ability to shape policymaking and help local coalitions develop and pass Transit & Infrastructure ballot measures.
Spurred by the success that Mayor Garcetti and our team achieved in passing Measure M in Los Angeles in 2016, we provide expert counsel, strategic grants, support critical polling and policy research, and make connections among local and national leaders to increase the chances for success at the ballot box or via legislation.
Where We Work
We travel all across the country to support local Transit & Infrastructure measures. In the two years since we first convened in South Bend, we have helped local communities generate $22 billion in Transit & Infrastructure funding in the cities below, and we have over $150 billion in funding targeted in 2020.
